More Cabbage Soup Recipes
Fall is an especially great time for cabbage soup recipes. It's chilly and many fall vegetables are cheap and plentiful. Spice up those fall days with delicious soups. Fill up with tasty soups and lose weight before the holiday eating season even gets started. Try one of these recipes. They're all winners.
Zucchini Cabbage Soup Recipe
- 1/2 medium head of cabbage, diced
- 3 small zucchini, diced
- 1 large clove garlic, crushed and minced
- 1/4 tsp dried basil
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- salt to taste
- 12 ounces V-8 Vegetable Juice
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 can French Onion Soup, undiluted (10 1/2 oz)
- 1 to 2 cups chopped spinach
- 1/2 cup finely sliced carrots
- dash of Worcestershire sauce
Combine all ingredients, then cover and cook on low for 10 - 15 minutes.
Traditional Cabbage Soup Recipe
- 1 can beef broth
- 3/4 medium head cabbage, chopped
- 2 white onions, chopped
- 1 green pepper, chopped
- 1/2 cup celery, chopped
- 4 cups water
- l large can (28 ounces) chopped tomatoes with juice
- 1 can of tomatoe paste
- 1 clove garlic, chopped
- 2 dashes hot sauce
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar, firmly packed
In large pot or kettle bring the mixture of ingrediants (except for garlic, hot sauce and brown sugar) to boil over medium-high heat. Reduce heat and simmer. Add the other ingredients and continue cooking until ingredients are tender, about 1 1/2 hours.
Weight Watchers Cabbage Soup 1
- 1 large dark green cabbage.
- 1 red, 1 green and 1 yellow pepper
- 1 head of celery
- 2 carrots
- 2 lbs mushrooms
- 3 big leeks
- Small bag spinach
- Big bag watercress
- Big bag rocket leaves
- 3 onions
- 1 can Weight Watchers chicken soup
Combine all ingredients. Bring to a boil then reduce heat, cover and cook on low for 10 - 15 minutes.
Weight Watcher Cabbage Soup 2
- 2 cups shredded cabbage
- 1 cups chopped leeks
- 1/2 cup diced carrots
- 1/2 cup diced celery
- 2 tsp butter
- 2 cloves garlic, crushed
- 4 cups water
- salt and pepper to taste
- 2 packets vegetable bouillon
Saute cabbage, leeks, carrots, celery and garlic in butter until vegetables are tender. Add water and bouillon and simmer for 10 minutes.
